Minister of Sports and Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Damishi Sango, have reportedly called the family to demand N100 million ransom, the state PDP Publicity Secretary, John Akans, has confirmed. A family member, Mr. Jonathan Mapis, said the victims were abducted on their way to Abuja for the Saturday PDP National Convention, when the abductees got them. PDP Mapis said: “He left home around 4p.m. for Abuja. But at about 6p.m., when someone called one of the persons Sango travelled with, a policeman picked the call and told him (caller) that they found the phone in a vehicle abandoned on the road. “Apparently, the kidnappers took them to an unknown destination and left the vehicle just by the roadside.” Speaking on the demand, Mr. Akans said: “We just received a message that they are demanding N100 million. They called the family; I wonder where such money would come from. When they discovered that he was a party Chairman, they made such a demand, thinking there is money. “He was with one of our party chieftains, Chief Emmanuel Mangni, his son, driver and an orderly. The Deputy Chairman has reported to the party’s National Secretariat and the security agencies.” However, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mathias Tyopev, who earlier confirmed the abduction, said he was not aware that any contact had been made with the family by the kidnappers. He said the Plateau Command was working in synergy with the Kaduna office to rescue the victims and possibly arrest those behind the incident. His Kaduna State counterpart, ASP Mukhtar Aliyu, confirmed the kidnap took place along Kagarko-Jere Road in Kaduna State, stating that he received a distress call at about 7p.m. on Wednesday.

The mutual arrangement between both parties, according to Mr. Mirko Plath, Managing Director/CEO, Weststar Associates Limited was in line with Weststar’s plans to provide undivided focus to the Mercedes-Benz brand as it embarks on an increased business scale of activities in the coming years. Mercedes Benz The managing director assured their customers that their FCA brand will be adequately maintained by his company. Mr. Plath stated that Weststar owes a duty to continue to support its customers with after-sales services for the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM and Fiat vehicles until a new distributor is announced by FCA. He said: “We reassure our valued customers of our unfailing commitment to continue to provide excellent services as always. He, however, announced that a new distributorship for the FCA brands in Nigeria will be announced anytime soon” . Mr. Plath, on behalf of Weststar’s Management team, expressed his gratitude to the company’s long standing customers and business partners as he looks forward to more successful business years ahead for Weststar.
